Cycling in the Arlberg is a true highlight of a summer holiday. In the St. Anton am Arlberg region, a well-signposted network of routes spanning over 220 km awaits you Cycling and mountain bike routes, which offers something for every ability – from leisurely valley paths and easy tours to demanding trails for sporty riders and experts.

Particularly popular are (E-)mountain bike tours, such as along the Stanzertal cycle path or to the picturesque Lake Verwall, as well as more challenging routes to mountain huts such as the Konstanzer Hütte or Darmstädter Hütte. The varied landscape with wide valleys, green forests and high-alpine views makes every trip an unforgettable experience.

For those who want to experience more, E-Bike & Hike is a trending highlight: you can effortlessly cover greater distances with the e-bike and then reach the finest viewpoints on foot.

Practically speaking, there are eight e-bike charging stations in the region where you can quickly recharge your batteries. And with the Arlberg Bergbahnen bike ticket, steep climbs can be easily conquered using the Rendl or Galzig cable cars.

You can hire e-bikes from several local rental stations, and there are guided tours and training sessions for all levels, e.g. at the H2O E-Bike Academy. 

Experience the Tyrol mountain landscape in all its facets – comfortably, quickly and with magnificent views. The Arlberg Mountain Railways take you high up into the surrounding alpine pastures and summit landscapes in summer too, where wonderful hiking trails, panoramic paths and cosy mountain huts await you. 

In summer, several cable cars and mountain lifts are available to you, such as the Galzigbahn, Gampenbahn, Kapallbahn, Rendlbahn and Vallugabahn. The latter is particularly popular with guests – with its spectacular viewing platform, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Tyrolean mountains. Each lift has its own Opening hours, allowing you to plan your tours flexibly. With the Premium Guest Card, the use of the Arlberg cable cars in St Anton is already included – allowing you to explore the mountains without a care, enjoy the views or set off on your hikes at a leisurely pace. The cable cars in Lech and Zürs are not included.

A family summer holiday at the Arlberg offers varied outdoor experiences for all age groups. In St. Anton am Arlberg, children can discover nature through play, whether on the WunderWanderWeg trail with its nature stations, wildlife watching, or by taking part in Hoppl’s children's programme, which runs from Monday to Friday with exciting activities featuring a mascot and supervisors.

Old Nessler Thaja – An insight into alpine pasture life in the past

The Alte Nessler Thaja is a lovingly restored alpine hut in Pettneu am Arlberg, which brings to life the traditional alpine and dairy farming way of life as it was over 40 years ago. Here, visitors can learn how cheese and butter used to be made, and explore original tools, historic living and sleeping quarters, as well as a multimedia exhibition on life on the alpine pastures. The hut is situated just a few metres from the famous Nessler Alm and offers a fascinating insight into the alpine history of the Stanzertal valley. 

Senn's WunderWanderWeg – recharge your batteries in the middle of nature

A special highlight in the summer is the Senn’s WunderWanderWeg near the Sennhütte: Heart-shaped wooden loungers embedded in a bed of white flowers on a manicured mountain meadow invite you to linger, recharge your batteries and dream – right in the middle of the impressive Tyrolean mountain landscape. On your hikes, experience not only pure nature, but also cultural and historical treasures that make the Arlberg even more unique.

The legendary Verwall Adventure Valley

The car-free Verwall Adventure Valley near St. Anton am Arlberg is ideal for families and nature lovers. Well-maintained paths lead you to the emerald-green Lake Verwall, past meadows, forests and play stations that playfully immerse children in the mystical legends of the region. A particular highlight is the spectacular suspension bridge over the Rosanna, which offers fantastic views. Along the valley, barbecue areas and the Wagner Hütte invite you to take a break and enjoy regional delicacies. Verwall Forest Ropes Course

The High ropes course The Verwall Adventure Valley offers exciting challenges amongst the treetops. Across 28 stations in three difficulty levels, including flying fox sections, families and sports enthusiasts can experience adventure and action right in the heart of nature. There is a safe low ropes course for children and beginners.

Llama and alpaca walks

Flower walks – nature in full bloom

Around St. Anton am Arlberg, summer blooms in every colour. Numerous Flower and herb walks invite you to discover the diverse alpine flora: from meadow flowers and alpine roses to around 25 different orchid species. Particularly popular are the Alpine Rose Trail starting from the Rendl mountain station, the Meadow Trail to Nasserein, or high-alpine flower hikes to the Leutkircher Hütte and on to the Kaiserjochhaus. Along the way, you will experience nature in all its splendour – ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the flora and landscape.

Eagle Walk – long-distance hiking on Tyrol's classic path

The Eagle Way is among the best-known long-distance hiking trails in Tyrol: it runs for around 420 kilometres through North and East Tyrol, tracing the silhouette of a flying eagle. The route comprises numerous stages and leads hikers through diverse landscapes, past alpine peaks, romantic valleys and places steeped in history. For passionate hikers, the Eagle Walk offers an intensive nature experience full of enjoyment and challenge.

ARLBERG Trail – three stages, five resorts, alpine diversity

The sporty one ARLBERG Trail connects the five Arlberg resorts of Lech, Zürs, Stuben, St. Anton and St. Christoph on a spectacular long-distance hiking trail. Over a total distance of approximately 40–52 kilometres across three stages, you will experience imposing mountain landscapes, varied paths and breathtaking distant views – ideal for anyone who loves multi-day hut-to-hut tours. With the help of the cable cars, stages can be flexibly arranged and the mountain experience planned entirely according to your own wishes.
